About Us
When I was in my early twenties I started sewing and was really enjoying the freedom with making my own designs. I was sewing dresses, underwear and swimwear and started to sell them online with some amazing feedback from customers! During 2019 I become much more eco-conscious which led me to delve into the type of materials I was using, so with that I put all of my effort into researching sustainable fabrics and improving my designs.
Slow Garments was established as we entered 2020, with my desire to make high quality clothing in eco-friendly fabrics, ethically made to last a long time with as little impact on our planet. Slow Garments name is inspired by ‘Slow Fashion’ with timeless, investment pieces being at the core of the brand. The best part about this journey is that it has bought a whole community of those who love slow fashion and those who want to try it - together!
Slow Garments core values are to put the people & the planet first. The 2 main collections are the recycled swimwear & bamboo clothing. Both are made with double layered fabric in a seamless design, with the bamboo being a buttery soft jersey and the swimwear having a great recycled nylon sculpting stretch!
Most of all, after being a full time seamstress for 4/5 years now, all of this time has given me invaluable experience and of course my sewing, designing and skills have evolved.
Everything you see on my website is made by me from my
sewing studio in Surrey, UK.
